Do You Want to Be a Style Stitcher?

The Style Stitches Monthly Bag Challenge is going well, so many lovely bags!  The Style Stitchers are such great sports and are still submitting their bags from Chapter 1.  I find it remarkable that there are people sticking with what they started and completing it.

Here are a few new Cosmo Bags that joined the group:

There are more bags, but, I have to talk about something else today…

I have a Style Stitches by Amy Butler to give away!

I wanted to have the book give-away before the challenge started but, the book became back-ordered!  So, anyhow, thanks to Chronicle Books, I finally have a book to give away to one lucky winner!

If you would like to participate in the challenge and do not own the book, leave a comment on this blog post!

Since I'm footing the shipping bill, U.S. residents only, please!

** I really think that a person that is SERIOUS about participating in the challenge (and without the book, obviously) should leave a comment.  We will start with zippers next month, so, be prepared to get started soon!  You may preview all of the projects at Amy Butler Design's website.

I will randomly pick a winner on 1 March 2010.  You should check back on this blog to see if you have won.

I will announce the book winner with the 2 winners from February's challenge, that post will be full of inspiring pictures from this month!

If you need, read about the challenge right here.  There are great incentives for participating, read about them on the initial post.  If you are new to sewing (bags or anything) there is a little community in the Flickr group if you have any questions about a project and I am doing some sew alongs for some of the projects. Well, that's all of the convincing that I feel like doing tonight.  Good luck to you all!

Here's a shot of the book up for grabs in my bag that I created for February:

  1. I would LOVE to win the book and join the challenge! I’ve been following your posts and drooling over the wonderful pictures. Thanks for offering a give away!

  2. I would also love the book and would like to join the challenge. I was planning to start in March for the zipper bag… Now that I have my sewing machine πŸ™‚
    Is that ok?

  3. I came across your blog & love the idea of a “bag challenge”. I don’t have the book, but would love to win one so I can join in your challenge. I enjoy the idea of sewing, but sometimes end up frustrated. I made my girls dresses when they were little and I’ve sewn lots of curtains and window coverings, but never a purse. How fun that would be! Thanks for the chance to win!

  4. Ooooh I love AB patterns! My birthday is next week and love to make a new bag with my birthday fabric! I’m up for the challenge!

  5. I definitely do not have this book and am always up for a challenge; I have already made lots of bags and can never have too many!!! I used to buy a new bag regularly until I got my sewing machine a couple of years ago, now I make them! Love this idea!! (I do also love Amy Butler designs!!)

  6. WOW! All the bags are so pretty! I love all the vivid colors and patterns everyone are using. BTW Jemellia, that embroidered birdcage on your bag is smokin’ hot! I love it!

  7. Omg! I would not only Love to have this book I’ve been wanting I would also Love to join your challenge πŸ™‚ Coeyncass at Hotmail dot com

  8. I definitely want the book, and it would help me financially, since I am signed up for a class at my local quilt shop and will need to purchase the book anyway!!! PLEEEEASE ME, ME, ME ! =D

  9. I LOVE your bag that you made….would love to own the book inside it! (Don’t suppose the bag is included in the giveaway? Just kidding)! Thanks so much for an awesome giveaway. Melanie from Above All Fabrics sent me…came over via Facebook. Will add your blog to my Google Reader now! Glad to have met you and hope I can join in your sew along!
    Thanks So Much!

  10. I have my bag done and will take a photo tonight.
Not sure if I like this bag design, if I ever made it again I would change it up a bit more than I already did.

  11. I just got a sewing machine for Christmas and I think this challenge would be a great way to dive in and get to sewing! I really hope I win πŸ™‚

  12. A couple months behind on this one but I have started the Cosmo Bag in a japanese laminate cotton….will post pics!
